How to Add, Change or Remove WhatsApp Profile Picture

WhatsApp gives its user the option to change their profile picture in Android smartphone by navigating into the settings menu. You can add any number of profile pics you want, but only one image will be shown.

• Open WhatsApp from your Android phone and tap on the Menu button, and then tap “Settings”.
• Select “Profile”, and tap on your picture.
• You will see a small icon resembling a pencil at the top.
• Tap on it and you can now choose to remove your photo, take a new photo from your phone’s camera, or select an existing photo from your Android gallery.

WhatsApp uses square pictures. So your picture will be cropped into a square form when it is used as a display picture for the app. There are software you can use to ensure the photo fits without being cropped.

Depending on your privacy settings in WhatsApp, your profile picture may be visible to your contacts like friends, family, colleagues, and so on. Profile picture will only be visible to your contacts when the smartphone is connected to the Internet (WiFi/2G/3G/4G).

Remember that it is important to review your privacy settings from time to time. Any updates to your profile picture will not be visible to the people you have blocked.
